Donald Glenn Schwenn

Donald Glenn Schwenn, age 78 of Branson West, passed away January 24, 2024.

Don was born November 29, 1945, to Donald and Marylea (Green) Schwenn in Shenandoah, Iowa. He was raised in the Westboro/Tarkio area. Don attended Tarkio Schools, graduating in 1963. On September 12, 1965, Don and Wilda McGuire were united in marriage and to this union two sons were born, Marc and Matthew Schwenn. 

In 1974 Don and his family moved to the Springfield area, where Don was employed as a Springfield firefighter and they raised their family in Willard. Don retired from the Springfield Fire Department after 31 ½ years, retiring as a captain. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church and was a 54 year member of the Masonic Lodge. Don and Wilda moved to The Village of Coney Island on Table Rock Lake, and made that their retirement home.

John Pace

John Arthur Pace, age 80, of Kimberling City, Missouri, passed away August 10, 2023.

He entered this life October 18, 1942, the son of Darrell and June (York) Pace in Carthage, Missouri. John was joined in marriage April 28, 2006, to Lynda White.

With a generous soul, John was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners for forty-nine years and a member of the Elks Lodge for six years.

He loved participating in many fundraising activities over the years he spent with the three clubs as well as donating his time to visit with children, elderly, and veterans.

John enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs. The love and memories that John created with everyone around him will be cherished forever.

Fred Ybarra

Frederic Ybarra, 85, died at home surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, May 21, 2023.

Fred, also known by friends and family as Kiko, was born on March 15, 1938, in Granite City, IL. 

Fred held a long-time position as a train operator at Granite City Steel, and moved to Batchtown, IL after retirement. He and his beloved wife, Jane, later built their home and settled in Reeds Spring, MO in 1996 where they enjoyed boating, water sports and fishing.

Fred was an active member of the Masonic Lodge 680 and Elks Lodge 2505 as well as the Shriners, Eagles Lodge, Knights of Columbus and the Mascoutah 700 Bowling Club.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, eight siblings, and son, Joseph.

Larry Bisher

Leonard Lewis Bisher passed away on December 4, 2022 at the Veterans Home in Marshaltown, Iowa. His funeral was held on December 9, 2022. His son let us know of his passing. He was buried in the Iowa Veterns Cemetary with full military honors. He was a Korean War veteran.

Samuel Merritt

Brother Merritt passed away on Monday, September 10, 2022. Brother Merritt was a 23 year member of our fraternity, and a just and upright Mason that we will miss. 

Kenneth F J Runge

August 8, 1938 - August 27, 2022

Brother Ken Runge and his wife Sharon were tragically killed in a car wreck on Hwy 413 on August 27, 2022.

Brother Runge was a veteran of the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1968. Ken and Sharon moved to the Kimberling City, MO area sixty years ago getting involved in many community organizations and were members of the United Methodist Church. Brother Runge ran his own moving and storage company for many years.

Brother Runge was a member of Table Rock Lodge 680, as well as a former member of Billings and Galena lodges.  Bro. Runge was also a member of the Shriners, and played in their band.

Brother Runge was affectionately known as "Brother Tyler," a position he held with pride to himself and honor to his fraternity for many years.

Brother Runge was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on May 7,1966 and served the fraternity for over 56 years.

 

William J Cole

June 23, 1934 - August 26, 2022

Brother Cole honorably served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He moved to Galena in 1997 from Lincoln, NE. He had worked as a service agent for the gas company. He was a member of Prince of Peace Church in Springfield, MO. He was also active in the Elks, Shriners and American Legion.

Brother Cole started his Masonic career in Lancaster Lodge No. 54 in Lincoln , Nebraska, where he received all three of his blue lodge degrees. He was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on October 28,1966. He became a member of Table Rock Lodge 680 in 2018.

Larry J Dreppard

February 1, 1938 – July 17, 2022

     WB Dreppard was born in St. Louis, MO. to Benjamin C. Dreppard and Gladys (Harner) Dreppard on February 1, 1938.

     Larry was a 50-year member of Branson Lodge #587 and dual member of Table Rock Lodge #516.  While living in St. Louis, Missouri he served as Master of Cache Lodge #416 during their 100th Year in 1971.  He was a 50-year member of Moolah Shrine, St. Louis, Missouri, as well as The Scottish Rite, Joplin, Missouri and Kimberling Chapter #164, Kimberling City, Missouri.  When living in St. Louis he served as Worthy Parton of Gardenville Chapter #513, Order of the Eastern Star in 1974.

     Larry was a Sales Representative in the piping business for Midwest Piping/Crane Company, in St. Louis and was transferred to Houston, Texas in 1979. He also represented Shaw Group/APP in Shreveport, Louisiana and Canadoil in Quebec, Canada before moving to his home on Table Rock Lake, Lampe, Missouri in 1992. For six years Larry was employed at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri.

     He was preceded in death by his mother and father, sister Mary Ann (Dreppard) Delugach.  Niece Deborah (Delugach) Nelson, nephew Randy Delugach and first granddaughter Mackenzie Louise Dreppard.

     He is survived by his wife of 64 years and 10 months, Carol (Schwartzkopf) Dreppard; son, Larry Dale (Dawn) Dreppard, of St. Louis, Missouri; daughter Laura (Stephen) LeBrun of Hallsville, TX., 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, one niece and nephew and a host of other family and friends.

 

Daniel Moore Jr.

November 10, 1930 - September 24th, 2019

Brother Moore was born on November 10th, 1930 in Enid, Garfield, Oklahoma to Daniel Webster Moore and Esther Louise Hogan. At the time of Daniel’s birth his parent had not chosen a name for him, so unknown to his parents the doctor sent the birth records in as Daniel Moore Jr., later on his parents decided to name him Danny Joe Moore, so that is what he was called.

When his parents decided to move to Dallas, Texas at the age of 17 in June of 1948 Danny decided, with the approval of his parents, that he wanted to join the Army, his dad accompanied him to the enlistment station and signed for him to join the Army. They lied about his age, making him a year older than he actually was, (sure made a mess of matching medical records and official documents later).

After moving to the Ozarks and retiring he drove a school bus for the Reeds Springs and Branson School Districts.

On May 10, 1964 he married Shirley “Avery” Cardenas in Kansas City, Mo., he assumed the responsibility of helping to raise 3 children by Shirley’s first marriage, he was a good father, provider and husband for over 55 yrs.

He was initiated an Entered Apprentice October 5th, 1973, passed to the degree of Fellowcraft January 7th, 1974, and raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason February 18th, 1974 in Clay Lodge Number #207

At the time of his death he belonged to Table Rock Masonic Lodge #680

He was a Master Mason for 45 years, 7 months, 6 days and lived his life as a just and upright Freemason

Terry Gene Hatridge

November 10th, 1938 - March 7th, 2019

Brother Hatridge was born on November 10th, 1938 In St. Louis, Missouri to Erba and Naomi Valentine (Womack) Hatridge.

Industrious from the beginning, as a young man, Terry's first job was a newspaper route, followed by shining shoes on street corners and selling hubcaps he found or "picked up," His first professional job was setting pins in a local bowling alley, a job which inspired a love of bowling. Terry became a very well-respected banker in his professional life and created a legacy of helping small businesses get their start throughout the state of Missouri. Terry's hobbies included hunting and fishing, restoring old cars, and woodworking. Terry loved Indy car racing and was a devoted Civil War buff, and volunteered at the St. Louis Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children. 

He was initiated an Entered Apprentice December 7th, 1967, passed to the degree of Fellowcraft February 1st, 1968, and raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason March 23rd, 1968 In Brother Hatridge departed this life March 7th, 2019

Table Rock Lodge #680 presented him with his 50 year pin in March 2018

He was a Master Mason for 51 years, 3 months, and lived his life as a just and upright Freemason

Donald H. Stewart

April 26th, 1959 - December 3, 2018

Brother Stewart was born on April 26th, 1959 in Huntsville, Alabama to Donald and Esther (Shirk) Stewart Sr.  

Don had been a resident of the area for eighteen years moving here from Murfreesboro, TN.  He had worked as the chief engineer on tow barges. 

He was initiated an Entered Apprentice September 11th, 2007, passed to the degree of Fellowcraft November 13, 2007, and raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason January 22, 2008 In Table Rock Lodge #680

Walter Leigh Dimmitt

March 3, 1937 - September 6, 2017

Walter Leigh Dimmitt was born on March 3, 1937 in Omaha, Nebraska to Walter A. Dimmitt and Ruth (Whitted) Dimmitt. He married Mary Jane Graves on Sept 24, 1955. Walt was retired from the transportation industry having served many years as a manager and automotive and diesel mechanic.

He was initiated as an Entered Apprentice in Papillion Lodge #39 in Papillion Nebraska, on May 4, 1993, passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on May 18, 1993, and raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on June 1, 1993.

He petitioned Fremont Lodge #15, A.F. & A.M. at Fremont Nebraska on February 2, 2004 and was elected to membership there on May 4, 2004 and afterwards demitted from Papillion Lodge #39.

He petitioned Table Rock Lodge #680 for affiliation, on November 28, 2006 and was elected membership on March 13, 2006. He then demitted from Fremont Lodge #15 at Fremont Nebraska. He had been a Master

Mason for 24 years, 3 months, 6 days, and lived his life as a just and upright Freemason

Lloyd (Tony) E Root

December 5, 1939 - September 16, 2017

Lloyd E. Root, Lampe, MO son of Edward G. and Mary A. (Rogers) Root, was born December 5, 1939 in Hillsboro, IL and departed this life on September 16, 2017 at the age of 77. 

Lloyd had been a resident of the area for twenty-two years, moving here from Granite City, IL.  He retired from National Steel.  He was a member of the Kimberling City Elks Lodge, the Table Rock Masonic Lodge and the Stone County Shrine Club. 

Lloyd was initiated in 1971 in Triple Lodge #835 Granite City, Illinois, Raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason, and returned Master Mason’s Proficiency the same year. Commissioned Certified Lecturer in 1978 and Right Worshipful Grand Lecturer in 1979. Elected Master of Triple Lodge #835 in 1979
Became Charter Member of Table Rock Lodge #680 in 1996 and elected Worshipful Master in 1999. Served as Lodge Secretary for eight years.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruby Garris. 

Survivors include: his wife of 58 years, Charlotte Root of Lampe, MO; two sons, Michael Root and wife Julie of Maryville, IL and Steven Root and wife Brenda of Granite City, IL; one daughter, Michelle Reeder and husband David of Collinsville, IL; one sister Pat Buzick of Collinsville, IL; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

 

Charles Ollen Pittman

December 11, 1939 - December 31, 2016

Chuck Pittman passed away on the last day of 2016 at 4:23 p.m. He was surrounded by his family and close friends who held him until he left us.

Chuck was born in Shaw, Mississippi in 1939 to Edward (Edwin) A. Pittman and Louvenia Pittman (Upchurch). He met the love of his life, Helen Jean Renfrow, at Mississippi College in 1960. They were married 6 months later on August 28 and remained in love and devoted to each other for over 56 years.

He entered the United States Army on February 1, 1962. and served our Nation honorably until his retirement 20 years later. He served multiple tours, including Korea, a combat tour in Vietnam, Germany and finally retired in Phoenix, AZ. Awards he received include the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Silver Star, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal, among numerous others.

Chuck relocated to Lampe, MO from Phoenix, AZ in 1995, after building a beautiful home overlooking Table Rock Lake for his much beloved wife, Helen.  They’ve called this community home ever since.

Chuck spent much of his life in service to others. After his tour of duty in Korea, it broke his heart to leave the children behind in the orphanage where he had spent so much of his time. He was an amazing man who started early in his life picking up and bringing home “strays” as he liked to say. He answered the phone in the middle of the night when someone needed rescuing and made a place for them in his home.

Right Worshipful Brother Chuck Pittman, Knight Commander of the Court of Honor of the Scottish Rite, 32nd Degree was instrumental in the formation of Table Rock Lodge 680. If you look at the pictures hanging in the Lodge, you’ll see him laying the foundation, framing the walls, hanging sheetrock, painting and all those things it takes to bring something like that together. He truly moved in the Operative realms of Freemasonry and not just the Speculative as so much of us do today.

He leaves a legacy of love that lives on in his wife Helen, and their three children; Chuck Jr., Linda and Jay and his 6 grandchildren; Madison, Logan, Paige, Kaylee, Korie and Isabelle.

 

Larry Arnold Young

March 22, 1937 - December 20, 2016

Laurence Young of Lampe, MO, passed away at the age of 79 in his sleep on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Stony Creek Inn, Columbia, MO. Larry was born in Chicago on March 22, 1937. He and his wife, Doris, resided in Naperville, IL for 55 years and moved to Missouri in 2003.

 He retired after 41 years with the Bell system and had numerous assignments both in the US and abroad. He graduated from Lane Tech High School in Chicago, received his Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering from Perdu and later obtained a Master’s Degree in business administration from Benedictine College in Lisle, IL. He was very active in Lampe and Kimberling City on the boards of the Baxter Lampe Team, Mo-Ark Water Company and treasurer of the Table Rock Masonic Lodge #680.

 

Floyd Leon Hooley

October 22, 1938  --  February 3, 2015

  Floyd L. Hooley, 76, of Blue Eye, MO, passed away after a lengthy battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at his home in Twin Island Estates near Branson, MO.

     Floyd was born on October 22, 1938, in Tecumseh, OK, to J. R. and Thelma Case Hooley.  He spent his childhood years in Oklahoma and graduated from Macolm High School where he was a member of basketball and baseball championship teams.  

     From 1958 – 1961, Floyd was in active duty with the U.S. Army stationed in Germany in the 24th Infantry Division.  Because of some specialized training, he was assigned to the Tenth Special Forces and trained with career soldiers in field capture, combat, and survival.  He played football in the Army (running back) and also played shortstop on the Army baseball team.  

     Floyd attended Mesa College in Grand Junction, CO, and Wayne State University in Detroit.  He worked 22 years in the propane industry and became president of Utah LP Gas Assn.; he devoted his later years to ranching in CO.  Floyd was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Delta, CO, and Master of Table Rock Lodge in Kimberling City, MO.  He also achieved the Scottish Rite (32nd Degree).  

      Hobbies included golf (3 handicap player at his peak), fast-pitch softball in Delta and Grand Junction, CO; fishing for trout on Grand Mesa or salmon in Vancouver, BC; hunting elk and deer in the CO mountains; boating on Lake Powell.  Raising and training Labs and border collies was another hobby that gave Floyd great pleasure and satisfaction.  He wrote a manual about training puppies and gave one to every new owner of one of his dogs.  Border collies were his choice above all for intelligence and natural instinct.

    Floyd suffered with many ongoing health issues during his life—ulcers, rheumatoid arthritis, COPD, heart disease, etc. and had fourteen major surgeries before he was stricken with cancer.  He rarely complained.

     Floyd is survived by his wife, Marlene, of 30 years; his daughter Kim and her husband Brad and grandchildren Brooks and Madison; and his son Kurtis and a granddaughter Samantha; also three step-children:  Jim (Denise) and grandsons Chad (Candice) and Chris; John (Jackie) and grandson Jett; and Julie (Ron) and granddaughters Haven, Ceely, Olivia, and Georgia.  He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Cathy, who died at birth.

 

John Stewart Richmond

March 18, 1937 - May 12, 2014

John Stewart Richmond, Lampe, Missouri, son of Stewart and Caroline (Bartleson) Richmond, was born on in Salina, Kansas and departed this life on May 12, 2014 at the age of 77.

John was a retired nuclear engineer and had lived in the area for the last eleven years, coming from Green Bay, Wisconsin. He loved to fish and was a member of Kimberling City Masonic Lodge #680 and Elks Lodge 2505. John attended the Kimberling City Methodist Church.

John is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Nancy (Miller) Richmond and brother, Gilbert Richmond.

Survivors include: three sons, Greg Richmond and his wife Kat of Hollister, MO, Dan Richmond and his wife Karen of Rock Hill, South Carolina and David Richmond of Rancho Santa Margarita, California; one daughter, Deborah Shimanek and her husband Dennis of Kewaunee, Wisconsin; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

A memorial service was held on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Stumpff Chapel Kimberling City with Reverend Karen J. Richmond officiating. Masonic Lodge Service immediately followed the memorial service.

 

Burr E Tyrrel

Burr Tyrrel, 88, of Kimberling City, MO, died August 13, 2013 at the Sweet Life of Rosehill. A memorial service was held on Saturday, August 17 at Community Covenant Church, Lenexa, Kansas.

Burr was born in Moravia, Iowa, and worked in farming most of his early days. He then worked for John Hancock for 35 years in sales and management. He and his wife Jeanne of 67 years retired and enjoyed living at Table Rock Lake for 30 years. He loved golfing, fishing, hunting and boating.

Burr was devoted to his family and was dear to many. They had two children, Greg Tyrrel (Linda) and Sherry Owings (Bruce), six grandchildren.

 

John H Perrigue

February 16, 1937 - May 30, 2013

John H Perrigue, Kimberling City, MO, son of Ben and Leona (Ogle) Perrigue, was born on February 16, 1937 in St Louis, MO and departed this life on May 30, 2013 in Cox Branson, Branson, MO, at the age of 76.

John was a retired manager for AT&T who had lived in the area for the past twenty three years coming from Wichita, KS. He did not know a stranger, had a great sense of humor, loved to play jokes, enjoyed fishing and loved helping and volunteering. John served in the US Navy, was a member of the Kimberling City Masonic Lodge, the Shriners, Scottish Rite and the Kimberling City United Methodist Church.

John was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry Perrigue.

Survivors include: his wife, Ruth Perrigue of Kimberling City, MO; one son, John C Perrigue and wife Christine of Ambler, PA; three daughters, Lisa Philipps and husband, David of Lake Ozark, MO, Laurie Perrigue and husband, Larry Forbes of Clinton, MO and Linda Perrigue-Branson and husband, Jerry of Fenton, MO; one sister, Dodie Frazier of Mehlville, MO; six grandchildren, Carrie Perrigue, Ashley Grippo and husband, Joey, Michael Philipps, Justin Branson, Lindsey Branson and Jordan Perrigue and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 04, 2013 in the Kimberling City United Methodist Church, Kimberling City, MO with Reverend Clif Crockett officiating. A Masonic service was held at 10:30 a.m. before the service. Cremation was under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home-South, Kimberling City, MO.

 

Charles S Staake

May 9, 1927 - January 19, 2014

Charles Staake, son of Frederick W Staake and Florence Louise (Kimball) Staake was born in Woodward, Oklahoma and passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the age of 86.

Charles served in the US Navy Seabees during WW2 as a Petty Officer in the role of Unexploded Ordnance Disposal while in the Pacific theatre of operations.

Charles married Patsie S Tolbert in Kansas City on May 20, 1972.

Following military service, Charles attended Northwestern College in Alva, Oklahoma and went to have a career in banking. Charles also held positions in Law Enforcement both in Kansas and Missouri. He initiated the D.A.R.E program in Stone County Schools and remained active with a group of retired law enforcement officers until his death.

Charles was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Blue Eye and the Keystone Baptist Church in Reeds Spring.

Charles was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason in 2002 while a member of Table Rock Masonic Lodge #680.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and one brother.

Charles is survived by his wife Patsie S Staake and his son Jeffery L Staake.

A Masonic Service was held at Stumpff Funeral Home on Thursday 23 January 2014 and a funeral service was held at the First Baptist Church in Blue Eye, Missouri on Friday 24 January 2014.

 

Melvin H Bruns

December 6, 1924 - February 2, 2014

Melvin Herbert Bruns, son of Paul Edward and Marie Louise Bruns was born December 6, 1924 in Harrington, Kansas and passed away, February 2, 2014.

Melvin married Kay Judith McKim on February 14, 1999.

He attended Merchant Marine College and served in the Merchant Marine during WW2 and during the Korean Conflict he served in the United States Navy.

Melvin was a retired Nuclear Reactor operator.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Doris Virginia Bruns. Melvin is survived by his second wife Judy Bruns, three children, brother Leroy Bruns, five grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Kimberling City on Saturday 8 February, 2014.
